Safety & Care

Silicone Teething Toys
Silicone can be washed in a dishwasher or hot soapy water.

Wooden Teething Toys
Wood can be washed in warm soapy water and left to air dry.
For teethers containing wood we recommend re-oiling the wood with organic coconut or olive oil to ensure the wood doesn't get dry or brittle. Inspect the wood regularly for signs of drying out. If any cracks are noticed in the wood, please refrain from use.

Never leave your child unattended with toys or teethers.

Silicone Mealtime Range
Our Silicone mealtime range is dishwasher and microwave safe. You can sterilize your products by boiling them before the first use (or any time you desire) for up to 15 minutes. Please do not use sharp knives on your Dotty Ducks products, as it will permanently damage the silicone. Avoid using scouring pads or rough sponges, as it will also damage the silicone. If damaged, discontinue use and discard.

Sometimes silicone products can retain oil residue on its surface. You will know if you have oil residue because you will see white spots or notice a soapy taste after you wash your product in the dishwasher. Try to avoid any dish soap that contains essential oils, antibacterial agents and moisturizers. These oils can stick onto silicone materials and may cause build up. Also, only use unscented soaps with silicone products. A gel detergent is gentler over time on silicone products in the dishwasher (compared to tabs or abrasive powders that will slowly damage the silicone).

Don't worry if you have oil residue build up, as it is easy to remove. Rub a fresh lemon or lime all over the silicone and let sit for 10-15 mins. Rinse with hot non-oil based soapy water or wash your product in the bottom rack of your dishwasher. You can also use white vinegar to clean your Dotty Ducks products. Additionally, you can soak your product overnight for any stubborn stains or residues.

Please contact us at info@thedottyducks.co.uk for any Care & Safety questions.
